Kuala Lumpur: On Wednesday, the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, on behalf of the Sultanate of Oman, inked a memorandum of cooperation (MoC) with the International Islamic University of Malaysia. This agreement is set to establish an Omani Research and Studies Centre within the university's premises.
The signing of the MoC took place in Kuala Lumpur and was witnessed by Sheikh Ahmed Saud Al Siyabi, the Secretary General of the Iftaa Office at the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, alongside Professor Emeritus Datuk Dr. Osman Bakar, the esteemed Rector of the International Islamic University of Malaysia.
The primary objective of this memorandum is to introduce the rich culture and civilization of Oman to the academic community, while also encouraging scholars and experts to engage in research and studies focused on the country. The memorandum is designed to foster professional collaboration and improve cultural dialogue between the two nations.
The ceremony to formalize the signing of the memorandum was graced by the presence of Sheikh Abbas bin Ibrahim Al Harthy, the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Malaysia, ambassadors from various Arab and friendly nations, as well as a diverse group of researchers, academics, and individuals with a keen interest in the subject matter.
