This remarkable achievement took place during the bronze-medal playoff match against Poland, where Oman emerged victorious with a score of 3-2. The match, held at Hockey Oman Stadium in Al Amerat, marked the first time an Omani team has ever reached the podium in any Olympic sport event.
Rashad Al Fazari kick-started the game with a goal in the seventh minute, but Poland managed to equalize in the 14th minute through Damian Jarzembowski. Aiman Madit swiftly regained the lead for Oman after the break, only for Jakub Holosyniuk to level the score with five minutes remaining.
However, Fahad Al Lawati sealed the victory for the hosts with a winning goal just a minute later. Oman's defense held strong, securing a memorable and historic win that earned them the bronze medal.
