Muscat: On Wednesday, the Oman-Saudi Business Council convened its inaugural meeting of 2025 in Muscat.
The agenda focused on strategies to boost export and import activities via the Rub Al Khali (Empty Quarter) Checkpoint, which connects the Sultanate of Oman with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
The meeting was led by Ali bin Hamad Al Kalbani, who heads the Omani delegation, alongside Nasser bin Said Al Hajeri, who leads the Saudi delegation.
Ali bin Hamad Al Kalbani emphasized that this meeting reflects the significant progress in Omani-Saudi relations. He noted that these relations are advancing steadily towards achieving the desired economic integration, driven by the commitment of both nations' leaderships to foster ties that fulfill the aspirations of their citizens.
In his remarks, he highlighted the Council's objective to strengthen communication between the private sectors of both countries and relevant government authorities, aiming to develop and safeguard mutual investments, address challenges faced by investors, and identify new investment opportunities.
Nasser bin Said Al Hajeri, in his address, remarked that the collaborative efforts between the two nations promote sustainable development and expand investment prospects across various sectors, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030 and Oman Vision 2040.
He further stated that the Council is dedicated to fostering partnerships between the business communities of both countries, which he views as a crucial foundation for growth and prosperity. He reiterated the Council's commitment to enhancing economic integration and exploring new avenues for investment and collaboration.
