Muscat: On Sunday, the esteemed Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, graced the General Diwan of the Foreign Ministry with his presence, hosting President David Ranibok Adeang of the Republic of Nauru.
This bilateral meeting was conducted amidst the backdrop of President Adeang's official visit to Oman, where he was participating in the International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds (IFSWF).
The agenda of the meeting was focused on exploring avenues to strengthen diplomatic ties and foster economic collaboration. The delegations engaged in discussions on the potential for enhancing commercial communication and the establishment of both bilateral and multilateral partnerships, which are expected to yield mutual benefits, particularly in the sectors of tourism, mining, energy, and fisheries.
Furthermore, the importance of sharing expertise in the protection of the environment and oceans, in a manner that conserves natural resources, was emphasized. The discussions also covered strategies for addressing the challenges posed by climate change.
The meeting was also attended by Delvin Thoma, the Deputy Minister for Deep Sea-Bed Mining, among other officials from both nations.
