Riyadh: The Sultanate of Oman participated today in the joint ministerial meeting between the foreign ministers of GCC countries and Antony Blinken, Secretary of State of the United States of America (USA).
The meeting took place at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the GCC in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Heading Oman's delegation in the meeting was Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, the Foreign Minister.
The meeting focused on reviewing the partnership relations and cooperation between the GCC and the US in the political and economic fields.
Furthermore, both sides engaged in discussions regarding various regional and international issues that are of mutual interest. This step reflects the commitment of both sides to support all endeavors aimed at achieving peaceful resolutions and settlements for different issues and crises, with the ultimate goal of ensuring security and stability in the region.
Both sides emphasized the significance of directing efforts towards achieving a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and finding a peaceful and just solution to the Palestinian cause based on the two-state solution, international resolutions, and the Arab Peace Initiative.
In the meantime, Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi held separate meetings today with Prince Faisal Farhan Al Saud, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, and Dr. Abdullatif Rashid Alzayani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain.
These two meetings took place on the sidelines of the joint ministerial meeting.
During the meetings, they discussed areas of bilateral cooperation and explored ways to enhance them. They also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
