Oman Participates In Meeting Of GCC Commerce Ministers

Doha: The Sultanate of Oman actively participated in several ministerial gatherings, including the 67th meeting of the GCC Trade Cooperation Committee, the 53rd meeting of the GCC Industrial Cooperation Committee, and the ministerial committee dedicated to standardization affairs. Furthermore, it engaged in a consultative meeting that brought together ministers of commerce and industry with the heads of GCC chambers of commerce.

The delegation from Oman, which was led by Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, was instrumental in these discussions.

During the course of the meetings, the GCC ministers of commerce and industry commemorated the ratification of a free trade agreement with New Zealand.

Beyond the formal sessions, Qais Mohammed Al Yousef had the opportunity to meet with the Minister of Commerce of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Minister of Commerce and Industry of the State of Qatar, and the Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

In alignment with the gathering of GCC ministers of commerce and industry, the event also saw the recognition of 30 factories and 12 inventors. Among the inventors from Oman who were honored were Sulaiman Khamis Al Khawaldi and Shaima Tahir al Saadi.
