Vienna: The Sultanate of Oman participated in a three-day ministerial conference entitled “Nuclear Science, Technology and Applications and the Technical Cooperation Programme.” This event, held in Vienna, concluded on Thursday.
Yousef Ahmed Al Jabri, the Permanent Representative of Oman to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the head of Oman's delegation, noted that the global conference provided a platform for sharing experiences and information regarding the advancement, transfer, and dissemination of nuclear sciences and technologies.
Al Jabri further elaborated that the conference addressed the applications of these sciences and technologies in various sectors, including climate change, health, food safety, food security, and water resource management, all of which contribute to the achievement of sustainable development goals for all nations.
He emphasized that since joining the IAEA in 2009, Oman has benefited from numerous technical cooperation projects across agriculture, food safety, human health, environmental protection, and radiation safety.
