Kuwait: The Sultanate of Oman attended the 27th meeting of the GCC E-Government Executive Committee on Monday, which was organized by the State of Kuwait.
Oman's group was led by Eng. Abdulaziz Abdulrahman Al Kharousi, Director General of Digital Transformation and Sector Enablement at the Ministry of Transportation, Communications, and Information Technology.
During the meeting, the committee considered several agenda items, including the General Secretariat's report on the implementation of decisions made at the 26th meeting, initiatives under the GCC's guiding strategy for e-government, issues relating to shared eservices among GCC countries, the unified software procurement for GCC countries, and initiatives related to artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies.
The committee also reviewed the overall frameworks for supporting AI applications in public services across GCC nations, as well as the climate prediction and disaster management initiative using AI, both of which were developed by Oman. In addition, the meeting addressed the standards for the GCC Digital Government Award.
