Riyadh: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, participated in the "Future of Mining Conference" held in Riyadh today.
This conference serves as an international forum that unites governments, global corporations, research institutions, and experts within the mining industry. It provides a platform to explore the latest technological advancements and investment opportunities.
The Omani delegation was led by Mohsin Hamad Al Hadhrami, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals.
Al Hadhrami emphasized that Oman’s involvement in the conference is focused on fostering relationships with countries worldwide, aiming to enhance the minerals sector as a key component for economic diversification and sustainable development.
"By participating in this conference, the Sultanate of Oman aims to attract international investments, implement cutting-edge technologies, empower local talent, and promote relevant industries to increase in-country value (ICV)," stated Al Hadhrami.
Additionally, it is important to highlight that the Ministry of Energy and Minerals has designated numerous concession areas for investment through competitive bidding. Mining agreements have been established with both local and international firms to explore 21 concession areas for raw material prospecting, with anticipated investments from these areas projected to reach approximately RO 37 million.
