Muscat: The Hadatha Cybersecurity Forum, which took place at the COMEX 2025 exhibition, focused on investments aimed at developing a national cybersecurity industry, adhering to the highest international standards for service and solution provision, and fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors.
Organised by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, represented by the National Centre for Information Safety, the forum was inaugurated under the patronage of Dr. Said Mohammed Al Saqri, Minister of Economy.
In his address, Eng. Badr Ali Al Salhi, Director General of the National Centre for Information Safety and Head of the Fourth Industrial Revolution Center, emphasized that the forum's objective is to strengthen the digital economy, positioning it as a vital contributor to the national economy.
He elaborated that the Cybersecurity Industry Executive Programme serves as a crucial component of the National Digital Economy Programme, given its essential role in fortifying the digital infrastructure, enhancing consumer trust, and facilitating secure and sustainable growth for the national economy.
Additionally, he noted that the programme promotes both local and international investment opportunities in Oman.
During the forum, the initial version of the website for the Fourth Industrial Revolution Centre in Oman was unveiled.
A further cooperation agreement was established with the Middle East College to create the Hadatha Centre. The "Hadatha" Cybersecurity Industry Centres represent a national initiative executed by the National Centre for Information Safety, targeting the industrial sector along with innovators, investors, and academics to generate economic opportunities within the promising field of cybersecurity.
The forum featured multiple panel discussions focusing on investment prospects within the cybersecurity industry and the obstacles encountered by national firms in balancing growth and innovation.
A roundtable session convened investors and key decision-makers to explore the future of cybersecurity as a lucrative economic sector, enhancing Oman's status as a regional center in this swiftly evolving field.
