Oman Participates In Arab Ministerial Meeting In Cairo

Cairo: On Monday, the Sultanate of Oman participated in the extraordinary session of the Arab Economic and Social Council's ministerial meeting.

This session is taking place in Cairo as part of the preparations for the 5th Arab Development Summit, which is set to occur in the Republic of Iraq on May 17, 2025, alongside the 34th regular session of the Arab Summit.

The Omani delegation was led by Dr. Said Mohammed Al Saqri, the Minister of Economy.

During the meeting, participants discussed strategies to finalize the requirements for the Greater Arab Free Trade Zone and the Arab Customs Union.

Additionally, the meeting focused on issues related to economic sustainability, emphasizing the need to update the Arab Water Security Strategy to tackle resource scarcity challenges, as well as the Arab Strategy for Manpower Development and Employment to adapt to economic and technological changes.

The session also reviewed the Arab Vision 2045, which serves as a strategic framework for future development in the Arab region.
