Oman Makes History: Successfully Launches First Rocket ‘Duqm-1’

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has made a historic achievement by successfully launching its inaugural experimental rocket, "Duqm-1," into space, marking the first space launch experiment in the Middle East.

The launch was executed by the National Space Services Company (NASCOM) with oversight from the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology.

This pivotal event signifies Oman's entry into the space sector, in line with its strategic goals to bolster its capabilities in this domain.

The rocket was launched at 10:05 AM local time from a global site situated south of the Wilayat of Duqm, at coordinates 18 degrees north and 56 degrees east.

This launch site is recognized as a regional space hub, further solidifying Oman's position in the global space industry.
