Oman-Kuwait Business Forum Explores Ways To Enhance Bilateral Cooperation

The Oman-Kuwait Business and Investment Forum, which took place at the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, focused on strengthening the existing cooperation between the two countries across various sectors. This forum coincided with the "State Visit" of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to Kuwait.

During his speech at the forum, Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, the Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, highlighted the longstanding commercial partnerships between Oman and Kuwait. He emphasized that the visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik would play a crucial role in strengthening joint efforts and expanding economic integration to foster a dynamic economy capable of engaging with global markets and ensuring sustainability.

Al Yousef further emphasized that prioritizing trade and investment cooperation in key sectors would contribute to job creation and sustainable development in both countries. He expressed his hope that the forum would pave the way for new opportunities in logistics, tourism, industry, food security, and manufacturing industries. Al Yousef stressed the significance of collaboration in achieving the goals outlined in Oman Vision 2040 and Kuwait Vision 2035, particularly in the areas of trade, industry, and investment.

Furthermore, Al Yousef highlighted that the agreements and memorandums of understanding signed between the two countries would facilitate the growth and sustainable development of the private sector.

Eng. Omar Saud Al Omar, Kuwaiti Minister of Commerce and Industry, emphasized the significance of the forum in enhancing strategic cooperation in trade and investment. He highlighted the progress in economic relations between the two countries in recent years.

Al Omar stressed that the forum serves as a crucial platform for sharing perspectives, ideas, and investment prospects. It also aims to formulate joint recommendations and establish a more robust framework for facilitating trade and investments, addressing potential challenges for Omani companies looking to enter the Kuwaiti market.

At the event, Oman showcased two visual presentations: one by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion through the "Invest Oman" lounge, and the other by Oman Investment Authority. Additionally, Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) delivered a presentation.
