Oman, Iran Affirm Keenness To Boost Cooperation, Partnership In Various Fields

Tehran: The Sultanate of Oman and the Islamic Republic of Iran have highlighted the significance of strengthening collaboration and partnership across various sectors, including economy, trade, energy, transport, tourism, and more.

This was announced during a joint press conference in Tehran today, featuring Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, alongside Dr. Abbas Araqchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran.

Sayyid Badr indicated that both parties have committed to implementing practical measures to enhance trade and investment relations, increase the volume of bilateral trade, and streamline transport, shipping, and travel processes. He also emphasized the necessity of cooperation in developing food security and health initiatives.

Additionally, Sayyid Badr noted that the press conference addressed both regional and international developments, stressing the importance of intensifying diplomatic efforts and improving mechanisms for constructive dialogue to tackle the current challenges in the region.

The Foreign Minister further stated that both sides agreed on the need to seek sustainable solutions to regional conflicts, ensuring respect for national sovereignty and non-interference in domestic affairs, with the overarching goal of enhancing regional stability and achieving lasting peace.

Sayyid Badr also affirmed that the Palestinian issue was a central topic during the press conference, which underscored support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and their aspirations for freedom, independence, security, and peace. Furthermore, both parties reiterated the importance of respecting the national sovereignty of Syria and Lebanon while supporting initiatives aimed at fostering stability and development.

Dr. Abbas Araghchi acknowledged the positive contributions of the Sultanate of Oman in promoting regional stability and fostering both bilateral and international collaboration.

At the end of the press conference, the two ministers reached a consensus to maintain communication and collaborate on various matters, aiming to achieve shared interests and bolster peace and stability both regionally and globally.
