Muscat: The Sohar Entertainment Centre (SEC) is set to be the central hub for the eagerly awaited 2025 Oman International Rally, scheduled for January 23rd to 25th. This rally will kick off the FIA Middle East Rally Championship (MERC) and is a highlight of the "Motorsport Festival in Sohar," organized through a partnership between the Office of the Governor of North Al Batinah and the Oman Automobile Association.
This initiative aims to position Oman and the dynamic city of Sohar as a key destination for motorsport fans, enhancing the country's reputation in the global motorsport arena.
As one of the most thrilling and competitive events in the regional rally series, the Oman International Rally is set to deliver an exhilarating start to the New Year. The event will feature a challenging format comprising 13 special stages and 232.39 competitive kilometers, with a total route length of 636.41 km.
The rally will once again see the participation of Abdullah Al-Rawahi, Oman’s celebrated rally driver and champion of the Oman International Rally in both 2021 and 2023. Al-Rawahi will face a formidable lineup of regional and international competitors, adding local excitement to the event.
In addition to serving as the rally headquarters, the Sohar Entertainment Centre will offer a lively atmosphere for fans and participants, highlighting the city’s rich cultural heritage and picturesque beauty.
The 2025 Oman International Rally is part of a larger celebration of motorsport excellence within the Motorsport Festival in Sohar, which will feature thrilling activities such as drifting, freestyle performances, car exhibitions, and rallying. This vibrant festival is expected to draw motorsport enthusiasts from around the world, reinforcing Sohar’s status as a significant center for international motorsport events.
