Oman Future Fund Established To Attract More Investors

His Highness Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham Al Said, the Honorary President of the Omani Promising Startups (POPS) Program, presided over the inaugural meeting of the program's Supervisory Committee this year. Government representatives and Omani startup members were in attendance.

The committee deliberated on the initiatives undertaken in 2023 and strategies to bolster the startup ecosystem. These initiatives aim to foster an entrepreneurial culture, evaluate innovative solutions from startups, identify technical opportunities to accelerate startup growth, and provide guidance to emerging firms on sustainability.

An analytical study on the startup landscape in Oman was reviewed, focusing on progress made through government support and challenges hindering startup growth and sustainability.

Emphasis was placed on supporting technology-driven startups and enhancing the entrepreneurial environment to increase the number of startups. Additionally, discussions were held on the launch of a venture capital fund under the Oman Future Fund to attract investors, support technology-based companies, and expand their services in Oman through various financing methods.
