Brussels: The Sultanate of Oman and the European Union held their third high-level officials' meeting in Brussels today to explore methods to deepen cooperation in a variety of areas of mutual interest, including trade, investment, fisheries exports, education, training, renewable green energy, and environmental and tourism collaboration.
The Omani team was led by Ambassador Munthir Mahfoudh Al Mandhari, the Foreign Ministry's Head of the Europe Department, while the European side was represented by AnnaMaria Panagiotakopoulou, the European External Action Service's Head of the Arabian Peninsula, Iraq, and Regional Policies Division.
The meeting was attended by Ru'aa Issa Al Zadjali, the Sultanate of Oman's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium and Head of Mission to the European Union, as well as representatives from many Omani government organizations and officials from the European External Action Service and the European Commission.
Ambassador Al Mandhari met with Michael Karnitschnigg, the European Commission's Deputy Director-General and Head of the Gulf Office for the Middle East and Gulf, on the fringes of the meeting.
Discussions during the meeting centered on bilateral relations between Oman and the European Union, as well as ways to strengthen them to meet mutual goals.
