Oman Chairs Meeting In New York To Discuss Prevention Of Infection

New York: The Sultanate of Oman has convened a meeting to deliberate on the critical issues of infection prevention and control (IPC) and antimicrobial stewardship within the healthcare sector (AMS).

This assembly occurred concurrently with the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The meeting was presided over by the Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, who underscored the significance of fostering international collaboration and partnerships among nations and global health organizations. He reiterated the Sultanate of Oman's dedication to contributing to global initiatives aimed at ensuring a healthy and secure future for future generations.

The assembly featured a forum that presented the insights and experiences of Oman, alongside the World Health Organization (WHO), the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Germany, Nigeria, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (US-based).

The assembly was graced by the presence of Dr. Ahmed Salim Al Mandhari, the Undersecretary for Health Planning and Regulation within the Ministry of Health, and was attended by ministers, heads of delegations, representatives from member states, and technical experts in the relevant field.
