Muscat: On Monday, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was executed between the Sultanate of Oman and Brunei Darussalam to bolster bilateral collaboration in the field of media.
The signing took place at the general Diwan of the Ministry of Information located in Muscat.
This MoU encompasses agreements for the sharing of radio and television content, along with news materials and programs. It also highlights the exchange of expertise across various media sectors, including training and reciprocal visits.
Representing the Sultanate of Oman was Dr. Abdullah Nasser Al Harrasi, who serves as the Minister of Information. On behalf of Brunei Darussalam, the agreement was signed by Yang Berhormat Pehin Dato Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohammad Yussof, the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and the Second Minister of Defence.
Subsequent to the signing, the visiting minister explored the Digital Studios Complex of the Ministry of Information. He received insights regarding the media and news services offered by the Ministry, witnessing firsthand the state-of-the-art tools and advanced technical programs that cater to the demands of contemporary media operations.
In a statement to the press, the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence of Brunei Darussalam praised the innovative technologies and modern digital resources indicative of the extensive media progress made in the Sultanate of Oman. He noted that this progress represents a significant enhancement in the production of media content that meets top international standards.
He also conveyed his optimism that the MoU ratified today would significantly elevate collaborative efforts in media, training, and the sharing of expertise between the two nations.
