Musqat: The Sultanate of Oman and the Russian Federation convened for a political dialogue in Moscow yesterday.
The meeting emphasized the strong bilateral ties, reciprocal visits, and joint participation in various events in both nations, including Oman's recent role as a key guest at the St. Petersburg International Forum.
Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, led the Omani delegation, while Mikhail Bogdanov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Special Representative of the President of Russia for the Middle East and Africa, headed the Russian side.
Discussions encompassed regional and global matters, particularly focusing on the Israeli offensive in Gaza and the conflict in Ukraine. Additionally, Al Harthy held discussions with Alexander Yakovenko, Rector of the Diplomatic Academy of Russia’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs, to explore collaboration in diplomatic training and expertise.
The meeting was also attended by Munthir Mahfoudh Al Manthiri, Head of the Europe Department at the Foreign Ministry, Hamoud Salim Al Tuwaih, Oman's Ambassador to Russia, and various officials from both delegations.
