Muscat: Oman Air has reaffirmed its dedication to operational excellence by being named the second most punctual airline in the Middle East and Africa for 2024, and the top airline in the Middle East. With an impressive on-time performance rate of 90.27%, the airline not only achieved a leading regional ranking but also exceeded the global winner's score of 86.70%. This marks the third consecutive year that Oman Air has secured a top position in the region, having previously ranked first in both 2022 and 2023.
The recognition was published in an annual report by Cirium, a prominent aviation analytics provider, solidifying Oman Air's status as one of the most reliable airlines worldwide. The award was presented to Captain Nasser Al Salmi, Chief Operating Officer of Oman Air, by Mahesh Jugoo, Cirium’s Head of Middle East & Africa, during a ceremony held this week.
Cirium defines an on-time flight as one that arrives within 14 minutes and 59 seconds of its scheduled gate arrival time.
Captain Nasser Al Salmi stated, “Timeliness is crucial for our guests, and achieving this requires significant coordination and commitment from our entire team. Every effort we make behind the scenes is focused on ensuring our guests arrive at their destinations as planned, thereby reinforcing their trust in our airline. We are immensely proud to receive this recognition once again and remain dedicated to providing a reliable and seamless travel experience.”
