Oman Air, Oman Airports Target Financial Sustainability; Omanisation Reaches 79 Percent

Muscat: A media briefing was conducted by Oman Air and Oman Airports to showcase the recent progress made toward economic success and financial sustainability in 2024.

During the briefing, Oman Air’s CEO, Korfiatis, mentioned that the workforce of expatriates has decreased by 500, while the Omanisation rate has risen to 79 percent. The meeting covered recent advancements in the strategic plans of Oman Air and Oman Airports to enhance financial stability and achieve economic growth in 2024.

The CEO of Oman Airports noted,

"It is a struggle to enhance operational efficiency.

In 2025, there was a 12. 9 percent rise in passenger numbers.

Salalah Airport is approaching maximum capacity, and it is now accommodating direct flights from Europe. "

In response, Oman Air's CEO remarked,

"A cost reduction initiative will be introduced.

The Omanisation percentage has reached 79 percent.

The fare for the Salalah-Muscat route is now set.

We are soon launching new flights to cities such as London, Amsterdam, and Moscow. ".
