Muscat: The Oman Across Ages Museum has been nominated for the prestigious Versailles International Prize for Architecture and Design. This year marks the tenth anniversary of the prize, and it will unveil a list of the most stunning museums worldwide for the year 2024.
The selection includes seven museums that have recently opened or reopened, each showcasing creativity, reflecting local heritage, promoting efficiency, and making a positive impact on their surroundings.
The International Versailles Prize, a tradition initiated by UNESCO in 2015, will announce the winner in November. This esteemed award focuses on contemporary architectural projects globally and grants twenty-four international titles across various categories such as airports, university campuses, passenger stations, stadiums, sports centers, museums, commercial centers, hotels, and restaurants.
It is worth mentioning that the Oman Across Ages Museum's architectural design is truly innovative, drawing inspiration from the captivating landscapes of Oman. The building's design is influenced by the majestic Al Hajar mountain range, with its distinctive shape mirroring the rugged peaks and sharp corners found in the natural surroundings.
