Oman Academic Accreditation Authority Holds 5th Board Meeting In 2024

Muscat: The board of directors of the Oman Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education (OAAAQA) convened today for its fifth meeting of the year 2024. The session was led by Dr. Rahma Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, Chairperson of the board, with Dr. Jokha Abdullah Al Shukaili, CEO of the Authority, also in attendance.

During the meeting, the board examined the Authority’s agenda for 2025, focusing on the disclosure of conflicts of interest within higher education institutions to enhance quality assurance. Additionally, the board reviewed its self-assessment report for 2024.

The directors discussed the Authority’s action plan to implement recommendations resulting from a pilot visit by a team assigned to a project aimed at securing Oman’s recognition from the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE).

Furthermore, the board approved a report recommending the inclusion of several qualifications in the National Qualifications Framework. The meeting also included a review of the final report regarding the upcoming launch ceremony for the “National System for Evaluating School Performance.”

In closing, the board assessed the Authority’s annual plan for the year 2025.
