OIA Completes Preparations To Host Forum Of Sovereign Wealth Funds

Muscat: The Oman Investment Authority (OIA) has confirmed that the Sultanate of Oman is eager to welcome the International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds (IFSWF) from November 3 to 6, 2024.

This gathering will feature leaders and representatives from over 50 sovereign wealth funds from 46 nations across the globe.

Sheikh Nasser Suleiman Al Harthy, the OIA Deputy Chairman for Operations, mentioned that this event is a testament to Oman's commitment to fostering economic cooperation with sovereign wealth funds globally. He further stated that the assembly will include delegates from the world's largest sovereign wealth funds, managing assets exceeding $8 trillion.

During a press conference hosted by OIA on Wednesday, Al Harthy highlighted that the forum offers a platform for Oman to display its investment prowess and forge alliances with sovereign wealth funds, thereby enhancing economic diversification and contributing to the nation's economic growth.

Al Harthy emphasized that the conference will feature distinguished speakers from around the world, such as Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, who will join the event virtually through electronic conferencing, Eng. Salim Nasser Al Aufi, the Minister of Energy and Minerals, Abdulsalam Mohammed Al Murshidi, the Chairman of OIA, Robert Smith, the wealthiest African-American in the US, Antonio Gracias, the CEO of Valor, and Yan Yu, the Legal Adviser at the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
