OCCI Reviews Activities Of Sectoral Committees

Muscat: On the Tuesday of the current year, 2024, the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) convened to evaluate the tasks assigned to sectoral committees throughout this period.

The proceedings were facilitated under the leadership of Faisal Abdullah Al Rawas, the Chairman of OCCI's Board of Directors, during which he was joined by the Second Deputy Chairman of OCCI, members of the Board, the heads of sectoral committees, and the Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber.

The agenda for the meeting was comprehensive, encompassing a presentation that detailed the progress achieved by sectoral committees in executing their plans, the overall performance of OCCI, and an assessment of whether these outcomes were in alignment with the expectations of the private sector.

The discussion also covered a variety of sectors and challenges, including the issue of low demand, which has been a significant obstacle to the growth and sustainability of businesses within the Sultanate of Oman. Participants addressed the need for mechanisms and initiatives aimed at boosting demand and stimulating consumption within the country. There was a particular emphasis placed on the development of innovative products that are in harmony with the government's initiatives to enhance local content.

Furthermore, the meeting reviewed an initiative launched by the National Programme for Investment and Exports Development (Nazdaher) and discussed mechanisms for supporting entrepreneurs and startups across a diverse range of economic sectors. This highlights the chamber's commitment to fostering an environment conducive to business growth and innovation within Oman.
