No Permission Required To Run Offers And Promotions In Oman

The Ministry of Commerce, Industry & Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) in Muscat has recently announced a new initiative to improve the business environment in Oman. Commercial establishments are no longer required to seek prior permission from the ministry to run promotions and offers.

This decision, made in partnership with the Consumer Protection Authority, aims to boost commercial activities, increase market competitiveness, and ensure products are available at fair prices.

However, there are some conditions attached to these promotions and discounts. Businesses are allowed to offer discounts and promotions for up to 3 consecutive days per week, no more than three times a month, and the maximum discount allowed is 30%.

Although companies no longer need permission to offer these deals, they must inform the Consumer Protection Authority in advance.

This initiative by the commerce ministry is intended to create a mutually beneficial environment for both businesses and consumers in Oman.
