Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman's Ministry of Labour (MoL) has announced that a Professional Practice License will be needed for various jobs in the logistics industry beginning September 1, 2025.
This initiative is part of the Ministry of Labour's continuous efforts to regulate the labor market, improve workforce productivity in the Sultanate of Oman, and ensure that professions are practiced in accordance with established professional standards.
The new rule applies to all Omani and foreign people who presently work in or plan to work in the selected disciplines listed below, regardless of industry.
Importantly, getting a Professional Practice License from the Sectoral Skills Unit for the Logistics Sector will be necessary for the issuance or renewal of work permits for both Omani and foreign employees. As of September 1, 2025, no work permits will be awarded or renewed without the presentation of this approved license.
Applications for licenses must be submitted electronically via the Sectoral Skills Unit's official platform for the logistics sector, which may be found at https://issu. ola. om/signup.
Noncompliant establishments will face legal and administrative penalties, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, beginning on the effective date.
This statement is obligatory on all organizations operating in the Sultanate of Oman, as well as all people (Omanis and foreigners) who are now practicing or plan to practice the listed professions. Compliance with this order is a basic need for continuing to practice these professions in the Sultanate.
