Ibri: Nama Water Services company has initiated a significant project valued at OMR235 million aimed at developing water distribution networks in the Wilayats of Ibri, Yanqul, and Dhank within the Al Dhahirah Governorate.
This initiative was announced during a community meeting held by Nama Water Services in Al Dhahirah Governorate.
According to Mohammed Harib Al Makhmari, the Project Director, the project commenced in early December 2024 and is projected to be completed by the second quarter of 2028.
Al Makhmari emphasized that the primary goal of the project is to ensure the provision of safe and sustainable drinking water to all residents in the Wilayats of Al Dhahirah Governorate.
He further noted that the project is designed to expand the water distribution network to accommodate the increasing population in Al Dhahirah Governorate, while also improving the strategic water storage capacity in the Wilayats of Ibri, Yanqul, and Dhank to meet future demands up to the year 2050, based on demographic growth and urban development trends. The project plans to establish 22,000 water meter connections, benefiting over 270,000 individuals across the three wilayats, with an anticipated total of approximately 500,000 connections by 2050, as stated by Al Makhmari.
