Muscat Municipality Launches First Stage Of E-certification Service For Lease Contracts

Muscat Municipality has recently introduced the initial phase of its electronic certification service for lease contracts, specifically focusing on new residential lease contracts. This service will gradually expand to include other types of lease contracts in the subsequent stages. While the first stage caters to all members of society, it excludes agencies and government entities, as they will continue to follow the existing procedures.

This initiative is driven by the municipality's recognition of the significance of regulating rental relationships and documenting rental contracts between landlords and tenants. It also aims to streamline and simplify service provision procedures, as well as facilitate digital transformation in completing service transactions.

The implementation of this service aligns with Muscat Municipality's plan to digitally transform its services, revamp certain municipal procedures, simplify them, and expedite transaction processing time. This step is in line with the country's commitment to achieving the objectives of e-government.
