Ministry Organises 'Family Sports Carnival' In Oman

Muscat: The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth, in collaboration with its Department of Special Activities, recently hosted the "Family Sports Carnival" at Al Qurm Natural Park in Muscat Governorate. This event was designed to enhance awareness of sports, promote physical fitness, and encourage active participation in a variety of sports activities within the community.

Khalifa bin Saeed bin Hassan Al Mazrouei, the Head of the Sports Activities Department for Persons with Disabilities and the overseer of the event, underscored that the carnival represents a significant component of the Ministry's sustained efforts to cultivate a culture of physical activity. He highlighted the event's role in providing a fun-filled environment for families to enjoy quality time together while participating in sports.

The carnival showcased an array of sports and entertainment activities, including a school sports section, sports entertainment, theatrical performances, carnival games, a cycling section, a walking track, and a sports medicine area, which offered medical check-ups and weight assessments. Furthermore, a sports corner was furnished with an assortment of sports tools and equipment for the attendees to utilize.

The event also featured sections tailored for children and families, including face painting, photography with character themes, virtual reality experiences, and a section for gifts and raffles. Additionally, a special area was allocated for productive families and other diverse activities.

This carnival is part of a comprehensive series of activities and initiatives aimed at promoting sports and physical activity throughout Oman. The objective is to establish recreational and educational settings that cater to all age groups, thereby reinforcing the significance of sports as a cornerstone of a healthy lifestyle.
