Muscat: The Ministry of Health has officially opened the Al Mazyouna Hospital in Dhofar Governorate, marking a significant milestone in the country's healthcare infrastructure development. This state-of-the-art facility is in alignment with the strategic objectives of Oman Vision 2040, which aims to establish specialized healthcare institutions across various governorates.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, the Governor of Dhofar, under whose patronage the event took place. The distinguished guest list included H.E. Dr. Hilal Ali Al Sabti, the Minister of Health, along with Undersecretaries and other high-ranking officials from the Ministry.
The construction of the Al Mazyouna Hospital spanned a built-up area of 13,649 square meters and was completed at a cost exceeding OMR 15 million. The project was meticulously overseen by the Ministry of Health.
The primary structure of the hospital encompasses a comprehensive range of medical services, including clinics for general and internal medicine, dentistry, pediatrics, surgery, otolaryngology (ENT), ophthalmology, and an expanded immunization program clinic. Additionally, it features specialized clinics for gynecology and obstetrics.
Capacity-wise, the hospital is designed to accommodate 50 beds, distributed across various inpatient wards catering to both adult and neonatal critical care. The facility also includes an emergency and accident unit, a dialysis center, a delivery room, and an operating theater.
The architectural design of the building is thoughtfully planned to include several clinics and departments, such as diagnostic services, including a radiology department equipped with both CT scans and conventional X-ray facilities, a medical biomedical engineering workshop, a central sterilization unit, a medical warehouse, a general store, and other essential support services.
The Al Mazyouna Hospital project represents a significant contribution to the Ministry of Health's endeavors to enhance the healthcare system in the Sultanate of Oman. It is designed to meet the growing demands for healthcare services, in line with the country's expanding population and the evolving healthcare needs of its citizens.
