Muscat: The Supervisory Committee for the 11th Five-Year Development Plan (2026-2030) convened its second meeting of the year (2025) today in Muscat.
Chaired by Dr. Said Mohammed Al Saqri, Minister of Economy and Head of the committee, the meeting focused on monitoring and evaluating the progress of the development plan.
The committee assessed the current status of the plan, noting significant advancements in its preparation, attributed to the collaborative efforts of 14 central teams consisting of 281 members from 100 government and private organizations, as well as civil society groups and individuals.
These teams operated according to a predetermined schedule that encompasses three key phases: (1) Analyzing the existing situation; (2) Identifying challenges; and (3) Developing strategic programs aligned with the objectives of Oman Vision 2024.
During discussions regarding the priorities of the 11th Five-Year Plan in relation to Oman Vision 2024, the committee emphasized the importance of fostering projects that are anticipated to add substantial value to the national economy and create more job opportunities for Omani citizens.
The committee also reviewed the latest updates on the financial and economic framework of the plan, along with future strategies and actionable steps to ensure the development of a comprehensive plan. Additionally, the committee highlighted the necessity of collaboration across various sectors to achieve sustainable development in alignment with the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
