Muscat: The Manah electricity transmission station has been successfully commissioned at a cost exceeding OMR 11 million.
The Oman Electricity Transmission Company has successfully concluded the construction and operational activities for the Manah electricity transmission station, which operates at a capacity of 400 kilovolts. The company has confirmed that the project was completed within a span of one year and eight months, with a remarkable record of over one million safe working hours. The project involved the installation of 400-kilovolt overhead transmission lines, connecting the Manah and Nahida stations with a voltage of 400/132, as well as the new Manah and Izki stations.
The station is equipped with 10 gas breakers operating at 400 kilovolts, electrical transformers with a voltage of 11 kilovolts, and two transformers with a voltage of 750 kilovolts.
The primary objective of this project is to facilitate the transfer of energy from the Manah solar power station through the primary transmission network. This initiative aims to bolster the electrical transmission network with clean and renewable energy sources, thereby contributing to the realization of sustainable environmental targets and reducing carbon emissions. Furthermore, it plays a pivotal role in achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, while simultaneously enhancing the efficiency, reliability, and safety of the electrical network.
As part of the Nama Group, the Oman Electricity Transmission Company is responsible for transmitting electricity from production stations to various load centers across all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.
