LONDON: Manchester United has finished the acquisition of Brentford attacker Bryan Mbeumo on a five-year contract for £65 million (approximately $88 million), with the agreement including an additional £6 million in incentives.
The Cameroon international is United's third signing of the summer, joining striker Matheus Cunha and defender Diego Leon, and the winger comes at a time when Marcus Rashford appears to be on the verge of joining FC Barcelona on a season-long loan.
The move concludes a summer-long drama that began when Manchester United submitted its first offer a month and a half ago.
As soon as I learned that I had the opportunity to join Manchester United, I had to seize it and sign for the club of my dreams; the team whose shirt I wore as a child, Mbeumo told the club's official website.
Mbeumo will now almost certainly be included in United's preseason trip to the United States, which begins on Thursday.
Mbeumo has 70 goals and 51 assists in 242 games for Brentford, including 20 last season as the south London club narrowly missed out on European qualification.
