KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) is excited to announce the inaugural Malaysian Healthcare Week 2025, aimed at presenting Malaysia’s comprehensive healthcare ecosystem to Oman. Scheduled from January 22 to January 25, 2025, at the Mall of Oman in Muscat, this event is a collaborative initiative involving Prince Court Medical Centre, KPJ Healthcare, PERKESO Rehabilitation Centre, and Cengild G.I. Medical Centre.
This event will highlight Malaysia’s proficiency in specialized areas such as cardiovascular health, rehabilitation, joint replacement, spine surgery, and advanced plastic and aesthetic medicine. It will also introduce the integrated health approach that Malaysia provides, encompassing wellness medicine and traditional and complementary therapies. This initiative aligns with MHTC’s strategic goal to broaden Malaysia's healthcare reach into emerging markets like Oman, establishing the country as a premier medical tourism destination. Given Oman’s expanding healthcare sector and its strategic location as a gateway to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, this initiative is particularly well-timed. By engaging with Omani patients and healthcare stakeholders, MHTC seeks to develop sustainable referral pathways and enhance collaboration in the healthcare sector.
The Malaysia Healthcare Week 2025 will include:
• Interactive Exhibitions: Presenting Malaysia’s medical capabilities through engaging and informative displays of exceptional healthcare services and cutting-edge technologies.
• On-Site Consultations: Providing Omani patients with personalized consultations from Malaysian healthcare professionals, offering tailored advice and insights into available medical options.
• Stakeholder Engagements: Promoting meaningful interactions with key healthcare stakeholders in Oman to identify collaboration and partnership opportunities.
• Cultural Immersion: Allowing attendees to experience Malaysia’s rich culture and traditions as part of its holistic healthcare ecosystem.
Dr. Mohamed Ali Abu Bakar, CEO of MHTC, stated that this event represents a strategic opportunity to connect Malaysia’s comprehensive healthcare services with Omani patients, ensuring they receive the exceptional care they deserve. Malaysia continues to be recognized as a reliable destination for medical tourism, providing substantial cost benefits while upholding high standards of care. Our internationally accredited hospitals are equipped with cutting-edge technology, facilitating accurate diagnostics and minimally invasive treatments.
Dr. Mohamed Ali further noted that in anticipation of Malaysia Medical Tourism Year 2026, efforts are underway to enhance our integrated healthcare services. These enhancements encompass advancements in modern medicine, wellness initiatives, traditional and complementary therapies, clinical services, and tailored patient experiences. This holistic approach guarantees that patients from around the world not only access top-tier healthcare but also experience Malaysia’s rich culture, warm hospitality, and a seamless medical tourism journey.
Building on the success of MHTC’s 2024 initiatives, which attracted over 8,000 visitors to the Oman Health Exhibition, the Malaysia Healthcare Week 2025 aims to further reinforce Malaysia’s status as a premier medical tourism destination.
MHTC is dedicated to establishing Malaysia as the go-to healthcare destination and fostering collaboration between public and private sectors for the development of healthcare tourism. Through initiatives like the Malaysia Healthcare Week 2025, MHTC aims to enhance and integrate healthcare services with tourism experiences.
