Muscat: The Health and Social Committee of Majlis Al Shura has praised the Royal directives from His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, which allocate OMR 7 million for the creation of a Care and Rehabilitation Centre for Autism Spectrum Disorder.
The committee emphasized that these directives demonstrate the Royal commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities and the dedication to fostering an environment that addresses their needs, promotes their independence, and facilitates their integration into society.
Additionally, the committee reiterated Majlis Al Shura's commitment to advocating for this segment of the population.
In its efforts to review the draft law concerning civil establishments, the committee has conducted several meetings, inviting specialists and representatives from civil society organizations, including the Omani Lawyers Association (OLA) and the Oman Energy Association.
During these discussions, the committee expressed its desire for the involvement of various relevant departments and stakeholders in the review process, seeking their insights and feedback on the draft law.
These meetings are part of a broader series of consultations aimed at refining a comprehensive draft law that aligns with societal aspirations and keeps pace with legislative advancements.
It is important to note that the civil establishments draft law is designed to empower these organizations to fulfill their roles for this community segment and contribute to sustainable development.
The committee's discussions took place during the sixth meeting of the second regular session (2024-2025) of the tenth term (2024-2027) of Majlis Al Shura, chaired by Mansour bin Zaher Al Hajri, with the participation of committee members on Sunday.
