New Delhi: Lulu Group International is poised to broaden its operations in India with a new initiative in Nagpur.
In an exclusive interview with ANI, M.A. Yusuff Ali, the Chairman and Managing Director of the company, revealed that the group is in the preliminary phases of planning its expansion in cities such as Vishakhapatnam and Ahmedabad.
"We aspire to contribute to India's ambition of becoming a USD 5 trillion economy under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We are currently developing one of the largest shopping malls in Ahmedabad, and discussions have commenced for another project in Visakhapatnam. Furthermore, we are in the initial stages of architectural planning for a new venture in Nagpur," Yusuff Ali remarked.
He also expressed appreciation for the support received from Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in establishing shopping malls in Visakhapatnam.
Nagpur has become a significant area of interest for Lulu Group, with Yusuff Ali emphasizing the company's dedication to the city. "Nagpur is among our top priorities, and we are presently in the early planning phase for our expansion there," he stated.
Regarding India's international trade and investment dynamics, Yusuff Ali underscored the robust partnership between India and Qatar.
"The bond between India and Qatar is one of brotherhood. The recent reception of the Amir of Qatar by our Prime Minister at the airport exemplifies the strength of this relationship. India is experiencing rapid growth, and Qatar stands as a vital partner, looking to invest in various sectors such as artificial intelligence, digitalization, IT, food processing, and food security," he added.
Lulu Group, recognized as one of the largest retail chains globally, is consistently enhancing its footprint in India, thereby contributing to the nation's economic development through investments in retail and food processing.
