Jusoor Forum Highlights Entrepreneurial Projects For People With Disabilities In Salalah

Salalah - As part of ongoing initiatives to support and economically empower people with disabilities, a program called "Oman Broadband Jusoor Forum: A Step Towards Empowering People with Disabilities" was held today in the Wilayat of Salalah.

The forum, according to Dr. Laila Ahmed Al Najjar, Minister of Social Development and sponsor of the inauguration event, is a successful example of cooperation between the public and private sectors. She emphasized that these programs give priority to priority community groups, particularly people with disabilities, and support initiatives to empower them at various levels.

This deliberate community involvement, she stressed, demonstrates a national dedication to giving people with disabilities the ability to exercise their skills and talents, promoting their economic involvement, and empowering them. She emphasized that as part of the Ministry of Social Development's programs and strategies, in collaboration with Oman Broadband Company, this group's empowerment is a priority in order to create an equal society that promotes sustainable innovation and skill development for all of its citizens.

Eng. Sultan Ahmed Al Wahaibi, CEO of Oman Broadband Company, said during his turn that the forum's arrangement is consistent with the company's commitment to corporate social responsibility. He asserted that when given the right opportunities and a supportive atmosphere, individuals with impairments can make meaningful contributions.

In the interim, Asma Ali Al Balushi, the creator of the Jusoor project for empowering people with disabilities, reiterated that the program was founded on a strong conviction in this community's potential. She outlined intentions for the project to become an autonomous organization in the future, with a focus on long-term empowerment, a forum for the voices of people with disabilities, and an umbrella for programs that promote their advancement and their development partners.

The forum, which was organized by the Oman Broadband Company in conjunction with the Jusoor initiative, saw a large number of visitors, and participants lauded the caliber and variety of the exhibitions in its twelve specialized pavilions. As part of a string of community and awareness events conducted by Oman Broadband Company in Dhofar Governorate, the event takes place at the same time as the 2025 Khareef (monsoon) season.
