On the occasion of the Holy Prophet’s Hijra Anniversary and the advent of the new Hijri year 1446 AH, Sunday, 7 July 2024, has been declared an official holiday for both public and private sector employees in Muscat.
The Ministry of Labour emphasized that employers have the option to arrange for employees to work on the holiday if it is essential for their job, but they must compensate the workers accordingly.
