Muscat: In collaboration with the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT), Google is undertaking a project to bring the Virtual View feature to the roads of Oman. This initiative, supported and supervised by the MTCIT, will be carried out in partnership with the National Survey Authority and the Ministry of Defence, starting from February 2024 and continuing until 2025.

The project aims to provide users with panoramic images of the main streets and cities in Oman, enabling them to virtually explore these areas from a 360-degree perspective. This immersive experience will allow individuals to virtually walk through the streets and discover the beauty of Oman.

The implementation of the project will be divided into two phases. The first phase will focus on covering the major cities of Muscat, Sohar, and Salalah, while the second phase will extend the coverage to the remaining states in Oman.

This project offers numerous benefits, with one of the key advantages being the ease of planning trips and visits. Users will have the opportunity to explore tourist attractions and important landmarks, gaining valuable information and entertainment without the need for physical travel.

Furthermore, the Virtual View feature will simplify the process of searching for a suitable property. Users can take a virtual tour of the surrounding roads, saving both time and effort in their property search.
