Information Ministry To Launch Khareef Dhofar 2025 Media Programmes Tomorrow

Salalah— The Ministry of Information will unveil the media programmes for the Khareef Dhofar (monsoon) Season 2025 on Tuesday, as part of a broader plan to promote the tourism, cultural, natural, and heritage attractions of Dhofar Governorate throughout the season.

The integrated plan, which runs through August 31, calls for the creation and broadcast of video, audio, and digital programs with interactive material and live field coverage to guarantee broad distribution both locally and abroad.

Oman TV will start its coverage with the show People and Khareef, which is returning this year with a revised, more in-depth format. The daily program (2:30 PM to 4:00 PM) will include numerous locations showcasing Dhofar's scenery and tourist attractions, with participation from Omani and GCC media experts, as well as Arab journalists.

The evening show Khareef Nights will air live from the Return of the Past event location in Al Sa'ada, Salalah (9:00 PM - 10:00 PM) on the Oman General and Oman Cultural channels, highlighting heritage, cultural, and artistic activities.

Oman Radio will broadcast Khareef's Radio Programme, code-named "Atheer," on a daily basis (5:00 PM to 7:00 PM) from the Return of the Past site, with studio interviews, AI-powered segments on Dhofar, and live video content shared via the Ministry's and radio's platforms.

Youth Radio will broadcast Khareef and Youth from Jebel Ateen studio (2:00 PM to 4:00 PM daily), emphasizing artistic, cultural, and social subjects for young people.

Oman News Agency (ONA) has begun its coverage with news reports, features, images, and videos across digital platforms, social media, smart apps, and radio/TV bulletins, emphasizing tourism attractions and sociocultural connections.

Oman News continues its coverage (since June 21) through print/digital reports and social media, providing comprehensive information on the celebrations.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Information's General Directorate of Digital Media promotes engagement through interactive contests, dronecaptured scenic vignettes, and multilingual visitor interviews.

The "Ayn" platform offers live coverage of all Khareef Dhofar season programs and events on Oman Radio and Television. Ayn has also established a children's show that promotes Dhofar as a family-friendly vacation destination through edutainment content.

Furthermore, Oman’s Information Portal, which is available in eight languages (Arabic, English, French, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, and German), includes specialized Khareef material to enhance Oman’s global digital presence. The portal is one of the Ministry of Information's most important platforms.
