Muscat: The Ministry of Information, represented by the Government Communication Centre, has today unveiled a strategic plan for the Government Communication System, set to span from 2025 to 2027.
This plan, crafted in accordance with leading international standards in communication and media, aims to improve transparency and foster engagement with the public.
In a meeting held today, the Ministry presented the new plan, which includes various initiatives and projects designed to streamline communication between government entities and the community.
Zamzam Hamad Al Hana’i, Director of the Media and Integration Department at the Centre, delivered a visual presentation outlining the plan, which is structured around three core pillars: empowerment, integration, and proactive communication.
The empowerment pillar focuses on enhancing resources by improving the effectiveness of communication and media departments within government institutions, enabling them to fulfill their responsibilities more efficiently.
The integration and coordination pillar emphasizes the importance of collaboration among system participants to ensure a cohesive narrative.
The proactive communication pillar addresses strategies to build trust in mainstream media by clearly communicating the government's priorities and achievements, thereby reinforcing transparency.
The Ministry's initiative aims to enhance the effectiveness of media communications while ensuring coherence and consistency in showcasing the activities of government entities. It also introduces a standardized method for media operations that aligns with governmental priorities and reflects its objectives. Additionally, the plan seeks to increase public awareness in Oman regarding government initiatives, foster positive engagement with governmental bodies, and empower the government to articulate its visions and aspirations.
This initiative is anticipated to facilitate structured and holistic government communication, cultivate consistent messaging through a unified strategy, and maintain ongoing media interaction that aligns with the cognitive needs of society.
