Information Ministry Concert Marks Opening Of New Theatre

Muscat: The Ministry of Information hosted a concert today to celebrate the inauguration of the “Information Ministry’s Theatre.”

The event was held under the patronage of Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al Harrasi, Minister of Information, and was attended by high-ranking government officials, members of the State Council, media representatives, performers, and cultural enthusiasts.

The Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra (ROSO) and the Royal Guard of Oman’s chanting troupe delivered performances that beautifully showcased the rich Omani national folk heritage through a captivating mix of musical compositions and Arabic songs.

During the concert, the Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra and the chanting groups captivated the audience with their synchronized movements and musical arrangements.

A 3D hologram operetta titled “Omani Media—Back to the Roots” illustrated the fundamental principles of Omani media and its ties to Omani heritage, knowledge sharing, and the evolution of media practices in the Sultanate of Oman since 1970, tracing the journey from print media to radio, television, and the digital age.

Additionally, a visual presentation highlighted the Ministry of Information's commitment to promoting the values and principles of the Sultanate of Oman. It emphasized the ministry’s national, humanitarian, and awareness initiatives, showcasing its role in disseminating information and knowledge. The display also highlighted the capabilities of the trained media and technical personnel developed by the ministry, equipped with cutting-edge technologies to fulfill their national responsibilities. Furthermore, it provided insights into the achievements of various media outlets associated with the Ministry for the year 2024.

The Ministry of Information’s Theatre is a 560-square-meter venue featuring advanced technologies and has the capacity to host 500 guests.

The Information Ministry Theatre aims to promote the arts and foster innovation while emphasizing the media's role in expressing culture and intellectual thought through contemporary technology.

Envisioned as a center for artistic and theatrical activities, the Information Ministry Theatre is set to enrich the cultural and media landscape in the Sultanate of Oman.
