Indian Embassy In Muscat Issues Statement On Shootout

Muscat: The Indian Embassy in Muscat issued a press release on Wednesday regarding a shooting incident that occurred in Muscat. Since the event, the Embassy has been actively monitoring the safety and well-being of the Indian community living in Oman following the July 15 shootout.

The press release detailed, "Ambassador Amit Narang had a conversation with Mr. Tausif Abbas, the son of the deceased late Shri Basha Jan Ali Hussain, who passed away in the incident. Ambassador Narang expressed the Embassy's full backing for the return of Shri Hussain's remains to India and offered all the necessary support to the family.

Officials from the Embassy also paid visits to the three Indians who were injured and receiving medical care at Khoula Hospital. Ambassador Amit Narang had discussions with their families, providing reassurances of full support.

"Ambassador Narang expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the quick response from the Omani security forces in managing the situation and safeguarding the lives of the innocent."

"The Embassy extends its condolences to the families who have been terribly affected by the loss of their loved ones and hopes for a swift recovery to all those injured."
