In A First, Royal Hospital Performs Three Device Implantations To Treat Arrhythmia

Muscat: In a groundbreaking achievement, the Royal Hospital has successfully conducted three device implantations to treat cardiac arrhythmia at Nizwa Hospital, Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.

Led by Dr. Ismail bin Abdullah Al Abri, a cardiologist consultant at the National Center for Cardiac Medicine and Surgery, a highly skilled medical team at the Royal Hospital's National Center for Cardiac Medicine and Surgery performed these device implantations. The team included Ahmed Al Kharusi, a cardiac catheterization technician, and Zakaria Al Maawali and Nizar Al Muharbi, both catheterization laboratory nurses.

This milestone is of great significance for Nizwa Hospital as it enhances the quality of healthcare services provided to patients and reduces the need for their transfer to other medical facilities.

The Ministry of Health's initiative to expand specialized medical services across different governorates of the Sultanate of Oman is reflected in this achievement. By offering this new service, many heart patients in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate now have renewed hope in overcoming heart rhythm disturbances and improving their overall quality of life.

It is worth mentioning that the catheterization laboratory at Nizwa Hospital was inaugurated in September last year, and since then, regular cardiac catheterization procedures have been successfully performed.
