Muscat: The 2nd ICEF Middle East Scholarship and Partnership Summit 2025 commenced in Muscat on Sunday, featuring participation from over 60 international universities and institutions renowned for their scientific programs.
The summit was inaugurated under the patronage of HH Sayyid Dr. Kamil bin Fahd Al Said, Secretary General at the Secretariat General of the Council of Ministers.
This two-day event aims to investigate opportunities for student exchanges, foster scientific and research collaborations, and address the challenges associated with scholarships.
In her address, Dr. Rahma Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, emphasized the summit's significance in facilitating the exchange of expertise, forging agreements with regional and international educational entities, and paving the way for the Sultanate of Oman’s transition to a knowledge-based economy. The summit will examine key international indicators related to higher education and national capacity building, while also discussing strategies for sustainability and sharing best practices in scholarships and training.
The event aims to enhance relationships among educational stakeholders from the participating nations.
The summit features panel discussions that cover national, regional, and international trends, innovations, and future directions, as well as the cultural impact of international students in shaping global citizens. It underscores the importance of cultural adaptation and the acquisition of host country languages, such as Arabic, to foster cross-cultural relationships.
The 2nd ICEF Middle East Scholarship and Partnership Summit 2025 showcases successful practices from the Sultanate of Oman, GCC countries, and other non-GCC nations.
Additionally, it highlights the role of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in driving innovation and creating internship opportunities for international students.
