Health Ministry Holds Meeting On National Risk Register

Muscat: Today marked the inaugural meeting of the National Risk Register, organized by the Ministry of Health through its Centre for Emergency Management.

The primary objective of the meeting was to improve emergency response and health risk management. Participants reviewed procedures for risk mitigation and assessed management mechanisms and methodologies in accordance with international standards.

In his opening address, Dr. Mohammed Saif Al Busaidi, Director of the Centre for Emergency Management at the Ministry of Health, remarked, "This strategic initiative is a crucial advancement towards establishing a comprehensive national framework for the monitoring, analysis, and evaluation of health risks."

The meeting included several visual presentations covering topics such as risk management, environmental hazards, zoonotic and plant disease risks, human infectious disease threats, and cybersecurity challenges.

Attendees included Dr. Said Harib Al Lamki, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Health Affairs and head of the health sector in the National Risk Register, along with representatives from various health and academic institutions.
