Gulf Takattuf Exhibition For SMEs Kicks Off

Muscat: The fourth edition of the Gulf Takattuf Exhibition for small, medium, and microenterprise entrepreneurs began on Thursday, with over 200 participating organizations from Oman and other GCC nations.

The three-day event was launched by Abdulsalam Mohammed Al Murshidi, chairman of the Oman Investment Authority.

In her opening statement, HH Sayyida Hujaija Jaifar Al Said emphasised that this year's edition builds on the successes of prior years, stressing the exhibition's contribution in promoting small firms (SMEs) and stimulating their economic development.

She mentioned that this year's event includes participation from Oman Tourism College students, who will be taught in event management and coordination. Their involvement, she said, gives useful hands-on experience and skill development.

The exhibit will also have a free post-event bootcamp for participating entrepreneurs and company owners, with a business lab and innovation clinic to help them improve their abilities and encourage collaboration. The session will be supervised by trainer Bassim Ahmed Al Balushi, a workplace development expert and a management and self-empowerment consultant.

Several respondents emphasized the exhibition's significance in promoting their products and services. Alia Abdullah said that her involvement in Takattuf provides a great marketing opportunity, pointing to the event's previous accomplishments and the support services it offers as important motivators for entrepreneurs.

Siham Ahmed Al Harthy, an Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) board member, emphasized that these events help small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) enter new markets while providing customers with a centralized platform to explore a wide range of products. She expressed OCCI's backing for local and foreign exhibitions of this type.

She said that the event provides an excellent platform to highlight items to a large audience, allowing for future market expansion.

The Gulf Takattuf Exhibition intends to encourage and promote SME projects, provide a platform for product presentations, and raise local commercial awareness while creating commercial prospects and knowledge exchange among GCC entrepreneurs.

The expo, which takes place at Fraser Suites Hotel, also encourages collaboration and cooperation between institutions, particularly given the wide range of exhibitors and participants from across the GCC.
