Muscat: Yesterday, in a significant diplomatic event, Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, the Foreign Minister, graciously hosted Andrii Sybiha, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, during his inaugural visit to Muscat.
Throughout the duration of their meeting, the delegations engaged in comprehensive political consultations and shared perspectives on a myriad of issues and developments related to the ongoing crises between Ukraine and Russia.
Furthermore, the discussions centered on the pursuit of a just and thorough resolution to the conflict, adhering to international legal frameworks and prioritizing the alleviation of human suffering.
The dialogue also addressed the persistent Israeli aggression towards the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, highlighting the critical need for an immediate ceasefire, the cessation of escalation, and a return to peaceful diplomatic channels. Additionally, the importance of upholding international law, ending the blockade on Gaza, and the release of all hostages were emphasized.
The ministers deliberated on potential areas of bilateral cooperation, including but not limited to, the economy, culture, science and technology, renewable energy, transport, and logistics.
The assembly was graced by the presence of Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, the Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, and Dr. Maksym Subkh, the Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa, among other officials from both nations.
